When I go home, I spend 90% of my time taking pictures of the family pets/chasing the family pets around trying to get them to love me/catching the family pets and gripping them in a sleeper hold. This is Rupey. He is the best cat in the world. Also, kills a lot of birds. And has survived an entire year living with my animal-crazed little cousin, which means he’s pretty much the Hercules of housecats. Also, really fuzzy.

For the second edition of NYPL’s Caturday we are venturing into the realm of “it’s unclear what exactly is going on here…”

The above is a cigarette card from 1932-1934 that would have been found in a pack of De Reszke Army Club Cigarettes. You’re likely asking, ”Why would people buying ‘Army Club’ cigarettes desire a card like the above?” We prefer to ask … why wouldn’t they?

I LOVE that the NYPL recognizes Caturday. (Which, I guess is reasonable, given the lions.)
